Video Games

Gaming is the term used to indicate a number of different things. In some cases it refers to a specific type of computer game, while in other cases it describes a group of games that are designed for shared enjoyment, such as board games, card games, and video games. Computer gaming is increasingly common throughout the world, and people often have a variety of options when it comes to the type of computer game they would like to play. This has led to many new titles being developed for various different gaming platforms.

A computer game or video game is a video game that involves interactive interaction with a user interface (joystick, steering wheel, keyboard, or infrared motion sensor) or non-interactivity, such as point-and-click. Video games can be single player, multiplayer (one player game on one platform), or both. Some examples of popular video games include Sonic the Hedgehog, Super Mario, Guitar Hero, Tetris, Pokemon, and Legend of Zelda. These games are played on personal computers or game consoles such as Xbox, Nintendo Wii, PlayStation 2, and Play Station Portable.

Over the past twenty years, video games have experienced multiple major technological advancements. A notable example is the development of technology which allows the video game controller to be physically connected to the game system itself via a wire or cord. This has revolutionized the way that people interact with video games, allowing them to move their hands and bodies through the game world as if they were really present. In fact, there is even some evidence that playing video games has increased attention span, helping to relieve stress and reduce overall tension levels. As more new titles are developed for game systems, the field of interactive entertainment will only continue to grow.
